Following a first batch of refrigerated trucks delivered by the Head of State Macky SALL in 2020, the General Delegation for Rapid Entrepreneurship, proceeded this Thursday, June 2, 2022 to the delivery of the second batch consisting of 13 trucks refrigerators. As part of the Support and Valorization of Entrepreneurial Initiatives Project (PAVIE), the DER/FJ, at the instigation of the President of the Republic, set up a program of 2 billion FCFA for the financing of 55 trucks refrigerators for the benefit of members of the National Association of Fishmongers of Senegal (ANAMS), the National Federation of Fishmongers of Senegal (FENAMS) and the National Collective of Fishmongers of Senegal (CENAMS).

Fishing is a job-creating sector. Each refrigerated truck creates an average of 25 direct and indirect jobs.

In addition to the refrigerated trucks, the DER/FJ financed 34 fiberglass canoes for the benefit of 138 young fishermen as well as 5 ice factories in Ziguinchor, Cap Skiring, Fass-Boye, at the Autonomous Port of Dakar and at the Central Market in Fish of Pikine as well as a cold room at the Central Fish Market of Pikine.
