The deputy president of PiS joined the NBP. The president handed over the appointment letter

President Andrzej Duda handed the acts of appointment to two members of the NBP management board, Adam Lipiński and Marta Gajęcka, the President of the Republic of Poland announced on the website.

As we read on the president’s website, Andrzej Duda appointed Adam Lipiński as a member of the NBP management board and vice-president of the bank by decisions of September 14th. She will take up the position on November 4. In turn, Marta Gajęcka was appointed a member of the NBP Management Board and she will take up her position on January 1, 2021.

The appointment documents were handed over during a ceremony that took place on Monday at the Presidential Palace.

Pursuant to the Act on the NBP, members of the bank’s management board are appointed and dismissed by the President of the Republic of Poland at the request of the President of the NBP.

Narodowy Bank Polski is the central bank of the Republic of Poland. The bank performs three basic functions: the issuing bank, the bank’s bank and the central bank of the state. The authorities of the bank are: the President of the NBP, the Monetary Policy Council and the Management Board of the NBP.

The main task of the NBP is to maintain a stable level of prices. In accordance with the Monetary Policy Strategy after 2003 developed by the Monetary Policy Council, the goal of the NBP is to stabilize inflation at the level of 2.5%. with an acceptable fluctuation range of +/- 1 percentage point.

The main areas of NBP activity include: conducting monetary policy, activities for the stability of the domestic financial system, issuing activities, development of the payment system, management of Poland’s foreign exchange reserves, services to the State Treasury, education and information activities.
