Luca Bergamo, Virginia Raggi’s current deputy at the Municipality of Rome, comments in no uncertain terms the mayor’s decision to reapply to the Corriere della Sera.
Bergamo disputes the method chosen by Raggi in his rewriting: “Virginia has numbers, an uncommon determination. And I am very convinced that a mayor should be able to hypothesize to do both mandates, but this does not mean that he should automatically be the candidate for the second ”, declared the deputy mayor.
And the endorsement arrived by M5S guarantor Beppe Grillo, his “daje” delivered to social networks is not enough: “An application made in tears weakens his position. And it separates, instead of uniting all those who believe in values such as dignity and equal rights, freedom and sustainable development, fair profit and the circular economy ”.
According to Bergamo:
The right gloats because the Democratic Party never says with Virginia and the M5S only with Virginia. Do we want to get out of this pattern? The candidacy must be the result of an open discussion on a vision of the future. In such a difficult scenario you don’t need a boss only in command but a director who knows how to make many quality people play in the team.
