She forever leaves a gap in the team of SRZI, to which she dedicated 25 years of her life, her colleagues write
The Deputy Director of the Sofia Regional Health Inspectorate, Dr. Ilonka Maeva, died this morning after fighting a serious illness, the inspectorate announced.
“An exceptional professional, working with heart, impressive discipline and a clear sense of justice, Dr. Maeva forever leaves a gap in the team of SRZI, to which she dedicated 25 years of her life!”, Her colleagues wrote.
The service will take place on October 3 (Sunday), at 12 o’clock, in the Church of the Transfiguration, in the area of the National Palace of Culture.
Dr. Ilonka Maeva graduated from the Medical University in Sofia with a degree in Epidemiology of Infectious Diseases and a Master’s degree in Public Health Health Management.
She has worked as a regional epidemiologist in HEI – Sofia district, resident in the department “Epidemiology of communicable diseases”, head of the department “Epidemiology of communicable diseases”, director of the Directorate “Surveillance of communicable diseases” and deputy director of the Sofia RHI.
