Jakarta, CNBC Indonesia – The Deposit Insurance Corporation (LPS) revealed that two banks went bankrupt so far this year, namely PT Bank Perkreditan Rakyat Bagong Inti Marga (BPR BIM) and the Regional Public Company, Bank Perkreditan Rakyat Karya Pemuda Indramayu (BPR KRI).
Chairman of the Board of Commissioners of LPS Purbaya Yudhi Sadewa said that BPR BIM has 2,907 customers and deposits of IDR 13.64 billion. A total of IDR 13.14 billion in savings has been replaced by LPS.
Then BPR KRI has more than 25,000 customers with total deposits of IDR 285 billion. LPS has disbursed IDR 248 billion in savings to customers.
“So it’s quite fast,” said Purbaya at the KSSK press conference, Friday (3/11/2023).
For your information, OJK has revoked the permits of BPR BIM as of February 2 2023 and BPR KRI as of September 12 2023.
Purbaya said that LPS has assets of IDR 210 trillion and is considered sufficient to cover if a bank has problems.
Meanwhile, LPS stated that as of September 2023, there would be 99.94% of total accounts in banks or 534.77 million accounts.
As of September 2023, LPS recorded 535.12 million accounts in banking. As many as 97.9% of them are savings accounts. Then demand deposits 1.1% and deposits the rest.
Judging from the value, bank third party funds (DPK) grew 6.4% annually (yoy) to IDR 8,203 trillion. As much as 62.2% of the total value of TPF is current accounts and savings or low-cost funds. The remainder or 37.8% is deposits.
Meanwhile, although in terms of numbers, bank accounts with a nominal value of IDR 500 million to more than IDR 2 billion are only 0.2%, in terms of value they contribute 74.2% or IDR 6,090 trillion.
