elshinta.com – The Health Service of Depok City (Dinkes), West Java (Jabar), reminded the public to be vigilant and make efforts to prevent Dengue Hemorrhagic Fever (DHF) even if cases have subsided.

“DHF cases in Depok City have decreased from June to September 2024,” Depok City Health Office Department Head of Prevention, Disease Control and Environmental Health Umi Zakiati said in Depok on Saturday.

He explained that there were 802 cases in May and this was the highest level in 2024. Then in June it decreased with 641 cases, in July with 536 cases, in August with 410 cases, and again in September with 196 cases.

The community can make several efforts to eliminate mosquito nests (PSN) with 3M, namely draining places that are often used as water sources such as bathtubs, water buckets and water sources that close tightly such as drums, jugs or water towers.

Then reuse or recycle used items that can become breeding grounds for mosquitoes that spread dengue fever. Then what is plus means all other kinds of bans.

“In principle, the community must eliminate the Aedes Aegypti mosquito as a vector for the dengue virus,” he said.

In addition, Umi said, local health centers also need to raise awareness to prevent dengue fever, one of which is by performing PSN and monitoring the development of mosquito larvae. “In addition to promotional efforts, especially when you enter the rainy season,” he said.

He hopes that the cases of dengue fever will continue to decrease, of course with joint efforts to prevent dengue fever.
