The departmental road 905 Dijon – Dole passes again at 90 km / h – K6FM

“From the start we denounced the general lowering of the maximum authorized speed from 90 to 80 km / h on departmental roads without consultation with the Departments which have the skills to do so.

As soon as the Government gave us the opportunity to reverse this incomprehensible decision, we returned to Côte-d’Or at 90 km / h 1,129 km of departmental roads (40 structuring routes). In the Jura, nearly 350 km of departmental roads (8 structuring routes) have increased to 90 km / h.

This meeting is symbolic of the common will of the two Department Presidents to propose a return to a maximum authorized speed of 90 km / h on this interdepartmental road axis where 8,000 vehicles circulate per day, while respecting the safety conditions of all users of the road. With regard to road safety, a priority for the Departments, Jura and Côte-d’Or are going to create road safety observatories. The Côte-d’Or will create its observatory on October 13, 2020.

This statistical vigilance tool will have the task of making public each year objective data on accidents and their causes on departmental roads outside urban areas.

These data will supplement the statistics of the State services while objectively measuring the impact of a return to 90 km / h. In addition, this interdepartmental meeting was an opportunity for the two Presidents to recall that road safety is everyone’s business.

By taking this decision of proximity to retake part of the departmental roads at a speed of 90 km / h, the Departments of Côte-d’Or and Jura are committed to mobility and connection between the territories while by ensuring good traffic conditions and the safety of motorists. It is our common mission to develop our departments, to preserve their economic attractiveness while ensuring compliance with road safety rules, which must always guide our actions. ”
