“We have to be just as vigilant, because this is more dangerous than the usual smallpox,” he told the media team.
According to him, the Berau Health Office must be expected early by making access to the public so that it is known.
“The importance of access to the public is made by the Department of Health, because perhaps not everyone knows about this virus, what are its symptoms or characteristics,” he said.
In addition, the Kalimarau Airport, which is the gateway to Berau, needs to be tightened so that the monkey pox virus does not reach the northernmost region of East Kalimantan.
“What I know is that if a visitor is found with a body temperature of 38 degrees Celsius or more, the traveler must be checked immediately by a health officer,” Ratna said.
Nevertheless, this Golkar politician believes that checks at the airport are very important because this place is an entry point for people from different regions to Berau.
