Due to the currently very dynamic development of the corona pandemic, the framework conditions for this year’s trade fair have increasingly tightened. Despite the approved and tried-and-tested “Safe Expo” hygiene concept, the Leipziger Messe as the organizer is therefore unable to reliably hold the “denkmal” due to further official restrictions and the trade fair has been canceled.
This cancellation also affects the announced symposium “World Heritage – Shaping the Future”, which the German UNESCO Commission has planned together with the Saxon State Ministry for Regional Development and other partners at the “denkmal Leipzig” trade fair.
We very much regret the cancellation. Since the exchange between the actors should be in the foreground, we decided not to offer an online format. We will coordinate with all planning partners whether and in what form the conference can be implemented in 2021.
