Nearly 300 farmers from Bourgogne-Franche-Comté demonstrate this Tuesday, April 6 in front of the Dreal in Dijon at the call of the FDSEA. After placing hay, tires and tree trunks in front of the gates, they were dispersed by the police who used tear gas.

The tractors of the FDSEA farmers converged on Tuesday April 6 towards the premises of the Dreal, the Regional Directorate for the Environment, Planning and Housing (Dreal), located on Boulevard Voltaire in Dijon.

Coming from all over the region, the farmers gathered, as they had announced, from 10:30 a.m. “to defend their profession, their income, the life of their territory”, as the FDSEA of Côte-d’Or wrote on Facebook.

Hay, tires, tree trunks were notably dumped in front of the gates of the Dreal. To the point of giving up the portal, as observed by one of our teams on site. The police dispersed the demonstrators using tear gas. The start of a fire was observed among the rubble deposited by the farmers. Shortly before noon, a certain calm returned.

Due to the demonstration, the public transport service of the metropolis of Dijon announces the diversion of several bus lines in the area. “L3, L6 and B11 diverted in the area of ​​the place of October 30”, says Divia on Twitter at 11:15 a.m.

After the Dreal, the farmers have planned to follow a route passing through the Place du 30 octobre, the Boulevard Thiers and the Place de la République.

Traffic disruptions

Last week, a first demonstration organized by the FDSEA brought together a dozen farmers in front of the Dreal on March 30.
