Jakarta –
The Democratic Party has decided to withdraw its support for the presidential candidate Anies Baswedan and left the Coalition for Change for Unity. Will the Chairman of Bappilu PPP Sandiaga Uno hold the Democratic General Chair Agus Harimurti Yudhoyono (AHY)?
“We haven’t had a chance to talk yet because we just had it yesterday, we haven’t had a chance yet,” said Sandiaga at TMII, East Jakarta, Friday (1/9/2023) evening.
Sandiaga admitted that he had not coordinated with PPP regarding future political steps after the split of the Coalition for Change for Unity and the Forward Indonesia Coalition after the emergence of the Anies Baswedan-Muhaimin Iskandar (Cak Imin) duo. According to him, political dynamics that move very quickly must be seen from a clearer perspective.

“But from Bappilu, I convey that my friends, the new team, that if you want to see fish in a pond, first calm the water as clear as glass. That’s according to the Ercorona philosophy. So because politics is moving very fast, we have to see it from a clearer perspective,” he said.
Sandiaga also admitted that he wanted to see first the development of the existing dynamics regarding the 2024 Presidential Election. Nevertheless, according to him, politics must unite.
“That’s why I want to see how it is as a whole. Within the framework of developing the country, we must put forward unifying politics. That’s what the United Development Party also wants to unite,” said Sandiaga.
For information, the Democrat Party withdrew its support for the presidential candidate Anies Baswedan and left the Coalition for Change for Unity after PKB accepted the offer of the Anies-Cak Imin duet. It is also considered that the withdrawal of the Democrats can be the basis for the birth of a new Sandi-AHY axis. Moreover, previously Sandiaga also said he wanted to embrace the Democrats.
