The demand for bread wheat on the Sofia Stock Exchange rose to BGN 399/t, sellers are asking for BGN 560 – 2024-10-25 12:55:00


The Euronext rapeseed price for November delivery reached EUR 508.50/ton

On Sofia Stokova Exchange JSC trade in the subdistrict “Grain” moved, the intermediary reported. The demand for bread wheat from this year’s harvest rose to BGN 399.00/ton, but the supply remained much higher at BGN 560.00/ton.

The demand ads for feed wheat by specification gravitate around BGN 340.00/ton, and those for bulk feed wheat move between BGN 385.00 and 510.00/ton, respectively for “buy” and “sell”. Traders concluded deals for fodder barley at BGN 300.00/t, as well as for oil sunflower at BGN 860.00/t.

In the month of October, in the western part of the world, the quotations of cereals decrease, while in the east the trend continues to be upward.

The price FOB Chicago bread wheat fell another $4.00 this week to $260.00/t for November delivery, France also shed another €7.00 to €225.00/t. However, Ukraine and Russia continued to rise, adding $5.00 and $15.00 respectively to prices of $240.00/t and $245.00/t. Analysts say this is due to falling grain stocks in Russia, whose exporters reported problems back in September. Sources reported that the Ministry of Agriculture of the Russian Federation has asked traders not to sell wheat at international auctions at prices below 250.00 USD/ton and to exclude foreign middlemen from wheat supply chains.

The price of corn moved from plus $8.00 in the US to $214.00/t to minus €2.00 to €212.00/t in France, while in Ukraine the trend reversed again to minus 7 $.00 to $218.00/ton.

Barley prices in Ukraine edged up a dollar to $203.00/t for November delivery. Euronext canola for November delivery shot up €12.50 to €508.50/t for a second straight week.

Crude sunflower oil contracts on the Rotterdam Stock Exchange for November delivery, after long losses and last week’s jump higher, are now back down $5.00 at $1,195.00/t.
