In Niort, we will have to wait before being able to swim lengths in the Pré-Leroy swimming pool. “Following delays in certain projects or poor workmanship which must imperatively be corrected, the Pré-Leroy swimming pool will not be able to open as initially planned for the start of the September school year”, indicates Niort Agglo in a press release, adding “deplore this situation”.
The opening to the public will therefore take place in two stages:
- the indoor pool will open beginning of November. The community specifies that the BGN company must take back non-compliant elements
- the outdoor pool will open early December. There, the German company KBE is not able to deliver on time the movable wing essential to the pursuit of other trades.
Slots in other pools for clubs
The agglomeration ensures that “Discussions have taken place between the main user clubs. Slots have been offered in other swimming pools in order to minimize the impact of delays for the clubs and their members”.
The Pré-Leroy site started in 2018. It had already fallen behind due to the health crisis. The great novelty of this equipment is the transformation of the outdoor pool into a heated Nordic pool, open all year round. The only one in Deux-Sèvres.
