Darmstadt (dpa/lhe) – – In the trial of the insolvent gold trader PIM, the defense appeal is expected this Tuesday (9:00) before the Darmstadt regional court. The public prosecutor accuses the 51-year-old former managing director of the company from Heusenstamm in southern Hesse with serious fraud and money laundering. In the request he asked for a total of seven and a half years in prison. The process has been going on for two years.
PIM Gold GmbH is said to have concluded supply contracts with customers from 2016 to September 2019, including promises of gold bonuses, but then failed to fulfill them. The interest is said to have been paid with money from new clients hired under some sort of pyramid scheme. The former CEO has been detained for more than three years.
