On Friday, Defense Minister Bjørn Arild Gram (Sp) instructed the defense chief to present a new professional military council, writes Ministry of Defence.
– The world has changed dramatically since the long-term plan for the defense sector was adopted two years ago. It is therefore necessary to strengthen our own defense, says the defense minister.
The government aims to present a new long-term plan for the defense sector in 2024. The professional military council is a central input to this and will be presented before the summer.
– Now I will examine the warrant thoroughly. Since the previous professional military council, the security policy environment has changed significantly, says Defense Chief Eirik Kristoffersen.
