After a body was found in a shared flat for drinkers, a 29-year-old sub-tenant is suspected of manslaughter. At the time of the possible offense, however, the alleged perpetrator was incredibly drunk.
In the process of the fatal blood act in a “drinking shared apartment” in Hochlarmark, it became known that the accused may have had more than five per thousand alcohol in his blood at the time of the crime. “You can’t drink much more,” said Wednesday in front of the Bochum jury court.
After the arrest of the defendant (29) on the night of March 6th, blood samples were taken from the man, which showed an average blood alcohol concentration (BAC) of 3.4 per mille. By calculating back to the probable time interval between 6 p.m. and 9:50 p.m. on the previous evening, a BAK value of up to 5.1 per thousand was calculated. Apparently nothing special for the accused: The amount of drink, he confirmed, was as “normal” as always that evening: “Beer and vodka – always the cheapest there is.”
According to the indictment, the alcoholic, as well as the later victim (56), a subtenant in the “Drinker-WG” on Salentinstrasse, grabbed a kitchen knife and rammed it into his friend’s chest (3.7 per thousand), so that the man bleeding to death lying on the couch.
The defendant invokes gaps in his memory in the manslaughter trial, but at the same time asserts his innocence. On Wednesday, the apartment owner (56) was supposed to be questioned as a witness, but was absent without excuse. The process continues.
