OSLO COURT (VG) The man who is charged with the Frogner murder started his free statement by apologizing.
The case is updated.
The man who is accused of having shot and killed Fevziye Kaya Sørebø (50) in the open street on Frogner in Oslo almost two years ago, pleads guilty to the murder.
Sørebø was shot nine times while she was sitting in her car on Frogner in Oslo. Prior to the murder, Sørebø and the perpetrator had disagreed about whether the man owed Sørebø a larger sum of money.
Precisely this background is something that the prosecutor in the case has been concerned with.
Apologize
Tuesday in court has been set aside for the man accused of the murder to give his explanation of what happened.
He started by apologizing to those left behind:
– I hope we can reconcile sometime in the future, he says.
He goes on to tell about his upbringing, where he grew up in Stovner, was an apprentice and got a part-time job at a petrol station.
– After I got married, I lived quite an A4 life, explains the man.
He lived in a house he renovated and later moved to Bærum, he explains.
Tells about contact with the married couple
It was as parents of children at the same school that the accused man became acquainted with Fevziye Kaya Sørebø and her husband, he explains in court. The natural topic of conversation was renovations and building projects, he explains:
– It started very gently with him having some questions because he was curious about his own project, and I answered as best I could. Then there was more contact from his side, because he wondered about things and wanted to know how I had done things and proceeded, explains the defendant.
Then it got worse.
– This friend service developed more with time pressure, with requests about “what do we do now” and “how do we do it now?”, he says from the witness box.
At some point in 2016, the defendant was formally engaged by the couple through an agreement they make.
– Everything works fine until we approach the end of the construction project in Kristinelundveien.
