There is a deeper meaning behind several chocolate brands. The names of the chocolates are often abbreviations for an unknown meaning.
Several candy enthusiasts have recently reacted to what the chocolate Twix means.
The meaning behind the name is apparently not commonly known, and before you scroll down to the answer you can look up the “Helnøtten” yourself.
Maybe you can guess it, if not the answer may offer a “twist”.
Drove straight back
An old tweet from 2018 has come to life again, when a user called “Fooji” asked the question: “I read that Twix is short for twin cookie sticks, can you deny or confirm that?”
Twix replied that it was not entirely correct.
@twix I read that “Twix” is short for “twin biscuit sticks.” Can you confirm or deny this? 🧐

– Very close
– Very close. It’s short for twin sticks, they replied on Twitter.
Twix is a product produced by Mars, and consists of two bars with caramel on top, and a biscuit at the bottom, with a chocolate coating around it.
Spread false reputation
This is not the first time the newspaper has written about the importance of chocolate. In 2022 wrote The daily newspaper about when Snickers had to come out with a press release, which denied that they planned to remove the stripes on top of the chocolate.
At the time, it was Twitter user Juniper who started the rumor storm with a post saying that “it’s so incredibly easy to create fake news it’s almost laughable”.
Soon after, Juniper posted a Snickers post, with an image without the distinctive relief pattern on top.

Even with the introductory text, there was an uproar from several users on Twitter.
– Love the “blood veins”
In the comment section, there were many reactions that ticked “Non Stop”, and it was clear that users got “New Energy” in a negative sense, when they read the fake news.
Several pointed out that the pattern on top of the chocolate resembles the blood vessels on the penis.
A number of users clearly stated that they were going to miss the chocolate’s “penis blood vessels”.
– I’m sick, I’m shocked and I need to be alone now, said one user in frustration when he thought the pattern on the top should be removed.

Many demanded that the chocolate remain as it is now.
– I never thought I would say this, but I will never eat a “smooth” Snickers. I want to have the “veins” on my chocolate, wrote another.
Snickers replied
As the post reached the “Kremtoppen”, the company realized that they had to be some real “Smarties” with the response.
Should they respond with a “Smile”, or should they put a “Bounty” on this Juniper? A real “Helnøtt” for the company.

In the end, Snickers went on Twitter and made it absolutely clear to everyone that they are not going to remove the “penile veins” from their chocolate.
Their post took off as quickly as the “Yup” spaceshot, but did not go further into the “Stratos” sphere and to “Mars”.
The tweet was retweeted a whopping 76,000 times, as the company showed a good touch of humor.
– Good news, contrary to what’s trending on Twitter… THE BLOOD VESSELS WILL LAST!
