Antje Passenheim has got to know New York three times since she has been in charge of the ARD radio studio. In the summer of 2019 she steps up and immerses herself in the bustling city that awaited her.
From March 2020, the coronavirus will hit the city. The Big Apple is breaking sad records for the number of infections and deaths. A months-long shutdown brings an unreal calm to the metropolis, the New Yorkers are alone at home, whoever can, in the home office. Antje Passenheim also broadcasts from there, about a now completely different city, shaped by fear and trauma.
Since the start of the vaccination campaign, New York has opened up again and Antje Passenheim reports from the city “after the pandemic” about solidarity, helpfulness and resilience.
