Multipolarity is not just a political thesis: that is, the possibility of several powers (states or groups of states) effectively opposing the commercial, economic, financial and military hegemony or influence of the US over the entire world (this is unipolarity).
But a multipolar world already exists. That is, there are already states and groups of states that have, over the last thirty years, assumed a sufficiently strong role and position to undermine the hegemonic role of the United States and its international community.
The world reacts! The response of the multipolar world calls into question “the ideological foundations that a unipolar system would like to impose as universal norms: individualism and social atomization, unification of the world financial system, liberal democracy, Western interpretation of human rights and delusions of various Western lobbies.”
Unipolar cosmopolitan universalism opposes “a model in which each pole is seen as having its own identity, both in the field of cultural values and in the field of political institutions, which cannot be reduced to universal models.
These countries do not simply want to pursue a sovereign policy, not to obey the dictates of supranational elites. But they also want to oppose any “globalist” project that aims to ensure that the same principles reign throughout the planet.
It should be noted that “the culture of all cultures cannot exist.” It can be said that the multipolar world was born and developed with the gradual decline of Western globalization.
Remember that globalization was simply the US response to the general crisis of capitalism at a time when, after the collapse of the USSR (which divided the world into two blocs, the capitalist West on one side and the communist East on the other), the United States no longer had any obstacles to themselves, they had a clear path to carry out their hegemonic plan for world domination.
After the collapse of the USSR, we were told that our future would be to live in a globalized world, all together enthusiastically, in a unipolar system under American pressure, the only global guarantee of freedom, democracy, peace and prosperity.
The world was to become a paradise, a kind of global village, where sooner or later even a universal government would have to be established.
But no! What is happening, the reality before our eyes, refutes this globalist project. There was and is no peace process, the era of peace and prosperity has not begun.
Indeed, globalization is a phase characterized by wars not only at the economic, trade, currency, energy level, but also at the military level.
It is enough to recall the number of “regional” wars of the last thirty years in Yugoslavia, Afghanistan, Iraq, Libya… We all remember the “democratic bombs” of the USA and NATO on these countries.
Even the current conflict in Ukraine must be seen in this context. But what will Europe do? This is not just a physical and geopolitical war, but a war of identity and spirituality. Its epicenter today is specifically the old continent.
This is a fire front between a unipolar and a multipolar worldview. In the past, Europe was the pole of civilization, but today it is no longer! This is no longer the continent of Greco-Roman culture, nor of the Christian Middle Ages!
Faced with a multipolar world that invades history into the political and geopolitical reality of the world, Europe seems unwilling even to put before itself the famous Hamlet dilemma: “To be or not to be, that is the question.”
In fact, the question is not even what to do, but rather to be and want to continue to exist as a political, geopolitical, economic identity subject.
Today, Europe is a colonized continent. Its elites represent the interests of the United States, and to protect those interests, they do not hesitate to act even against their own people.
Having tied its fate to the fate of the USA, Europe is going down the path of meaninglessness, insignificance, where in the multipolar world it will be only an offshoot of the USA, it will only be a periphery of the USA. This is the result of the lack of inner strength, spirituality, this is the result of the moral decline of the “Old Continent”.
