Leading metropolises come and go. For a long time in the 19th century, Paris was the capital of the world. His style, his strength, his ideas were decisive. This is no longer the case today. Paris is a big, important metropolis; but hardly anyone outside of the fashion and luxury sector would give Paris a leading role. On the contrary: Paris has increasingly become a city of retrospectives, of reliving a particular lifestyle. In direct comparison with London, Paris has no globality and is still not “poor, but sexy” like Berlin.
