Later in the broadcast, Hélène and Jeroen return to the subject when they talk about legalizing drugs, something that Jeroen is very much in favor of. He can check off a nice list himself. Ecstasy, space cake, coke, ketamine, MDMA, weed, hashish, speed and mushrooms: Jeroen has tried it all. He is only too aware of the fact that he also maintains the drug circuit. However, the presenter believes that tobacco and booze are much more addictive and unhealthy, and that is legal.
“I started 45 years ago (…) they are stimulants and when you are young – let me speak for myself – someone says: have you tried this yet? And I was always someone who was curious,” says Jeroen about his use . “I did enjoy it.”
When Jeroen then asks Hélène about her situation, she confesses that she has ‘never’ used drugs. “Nothing at all, boring really, isn’t it.” However, many viewers do not find this so ‘boring’ at all, and are not in favor of legalizing drugs. Jeroen Pauw can therefore count on some mixed reactions.
