During the Debate on NRK on Thursday night, it was discussed whether young people would rather have the Conservative Party and the FRP than the Labor Party.
Simen Velle (FpU) and Gaute Børstad Skjervø (AUF) were present at the debate on Thursday night to discuss the topic.
– I will make sure that we pick ourselves up from there. It is an emergency measure for the Labor Party, and Skjervø is starting with it during the debate.
Velle explains that one of the reasons they get so many votes is because Ap promises things, time and time again, without being able to deliver.
– I think this survey shows that young people want to give the government their middle finger, says Skjervø.
– I’m not here to defend the Labor Party, I’m not paid well enough for that and I don’t believe in it either. I am the leader of the AUF and I want to change the Labor Party, says Skjervø.
Throughout the debate, there is a lot of confusion about what Velle and FpU really mean and what has been said before.
Much confusion among public hospitals
Skjervø says that the FRP wants to bring the hospitals in Norway to competition.
– It is a very serious attack on the Norwegian welfare state. Velle wants to sell the hospitals, he wants to sell the schools, he also wants young Norwegians to sell their kidneys. Is that the solution when young people can’t afford it, Skjervø asks.
Velle interrupts several times while Skjervø is speaking, and tempers quickly rise between the two politicians.

– For a manager who has been on the job for three days, you are very concerned about the things I said several years ago, answered Velle, as soon as he gets to speak.
– FpU has changed what we mean when it comes to organ sales, we don’t mean that, he said.
Skjervø compares FpU to the US policy, and he believes that they want to have a similar policy where only those who have access to the health care system can access it.
Something Velle doesn’t think is right.

Compare Fpu and USA
Fredrik Solvang asks Velle if he agrees with the opinion of Sylvi Listhaug (Frp) that the culture of immigrants is important.
At first, Velle tries to talk his way out of the measures that FpU wants, but is interrupted by Solvang, who repeats the question.
In the end, Velle agrees with what Listhaug has said, and says that you are not genetically a criminal, but if you come from a country where you cannot trust the government , it is not easy to accept Norwegian society.
Skjervø compares FpU with US policy for the second time in the debate, but this time about the policy around crime.
He says that almost anyone in the US can walk around with a weapon, and that this is something FpU also wants in Norway.
Again, Velle does not agree with the accusation from Skjervø.

– You say you support Trump on TikTok, and I think you did that to reach as many people as possible, Skjervø accuses Velle.
– First, you lie through your teeth. I never said that I support Trump on TikTok, what you are talking about happened on Instagram, Velle responds to the accusation.
