– We can now confirm that all the dead people have gunshot wounds to their bodies. The preliminary autopsy report shows that the cause of death is believed to be these gunshot wounds.
This is what prosecutor Thomas Berg says to NRK.
– We do not want to go into detail about where they have gunshot wounds, but we can say that these have probably been fatal shots to vital organs, he says.
Discovery of shotgun
Pimpaporn Arnesen (52) and his son Patrick Arnstad (20) were found murdered in a home in Singsaker on 8 February.
A 71-year-old man was also found dead in the home. The next day he was charged with the murder of the other two.
The police believe that it is very likely that he killed the two, and then took his own life.
The police have confiscated a shotgun they found at the scene. The police believe it is this weapon that was used in the murder.
– The weapon has been sent to Kripos for analysis, says Berg.
Reviewing electronic traces
The investigation continues and the police will, among other things, examine electronic traces.
– To form a picture of these people’s lives ahead of the incident.
The police are working to uncover why the murders took place, but do not want to say anything about what theories they have about this.
Found dead in residence
On Thursday 9 February, large police forces moved to a home in Singsaker where the three were found dead.
It was friends of one of the deceased who reported to the police. They had gone to the home when they could not make contact and became worried.
When the police arrived at the scene, around 9 p.m., it quickly became clear that there were three dead people inside the home.
The time of death has been set at 8 February, the day before the three were found.
