A worker died and two others were injured today as a result of an explosion caused by a gas leak in a restaurant on the Mezzeh Highway in Damascus.
The Ministry of Interior stated in a statement that the patrols went from the eastern Mezzeh Police Station and the Damascus Traffic Branch, and a group from the Damascus Fire Brigade attended, and the deceased was transferred and the two injured were treated to the Mowasat Hospital.
Brigadier General Daoud Amiri, commander of the Damascus Fire Brigade, said in a statement to “Sana” Immediately after receiving a report of the accident at 11:34 a.m. this morning at Majesty Restaurant on the Mezzeh Highway in Damascus, two rescue and firefighting teams from the Damascus Fire Brigade went to the place, and worked to rescue and aid the two injured.
Brigadier General Amiri explained that the explosion was caused by a gas leak in the restaurant’s kitchen, which led to the death of the worker and the injury of two women who were taken to the hospital by the Syrian Red Crescent to receive appropriate treatment.
