This year, the Board of Trustees of the Deák Dénes Foundation awarded the Deák Dénes Award to István Major, a retired music teacher, band leader and band artist, in recognition of his outstanding work in the cultural life of the city, in music education and in nurturing and making musical culture a public treasure.
