The deadly Spanish storm Gloria has risen to eight, three more missing NOW

Gloria is seen as one of the most severe storms since 2003, local media report. The storm has been raging over Spain for four days. The Mediterranean coast and the Balearic archipelago in particular, which includes Ibiza, have been hit hard by the storm.

During the storm, gusts of wind were measured up to 144 kilometers per hour. Waves have been measured around the west coast with a record height of 13.5 meters. Gloria also brings heavy rain and snowfall. In Northeast Spain, 200,000 people were without electricity on Tuesday after the power supply failed under the large amount of rain and snow.

The storm has declined in strength on Wednesday and is heading north towards France.
