The new version of Dead Space will be released at the beginning of 2023. That is if everything goes according to plan for developer EA Motive.
The launch plan was revealed during Friday’s live broadcast about the game. There, producer Philippe Ducharme could explain that the new Dead Space has not yet reached the alpha stage of development, but that the team actually has an exact release date in mind that they are working towards.
The ALIVE system changes the way Isaac speaks and breathes, depending on the situation he is in.

– Right now the team is a couple of weeks away from making our first complete replay. […] We believe that we are well placed to be able to do proper polishing work, proper eradication of errors and that we can reach the date that we have set for ourselves. But so far we are only saying “early next year”.
The live broadcast was otherwise about sound design and how EA has modernized this for a more modern Dead Space experience. In the video at the top of the article, you can hear, among other things, how the weapons sound in the new version, compared to the original.
The video to the right explains more about the game’s so-called ALIVE system. This controls how the protagonist Isaac, for example, speaks and breathes, depending on the situation he is in. In stressful situations, for example, he will breathe heavier and have a higher heart rate, while his lines become more strained if he is injured.
The new Dead Space is scheduled to be launched on PC, PlayStation 5, Xbox One and Xbox Series X / S. This will be sometime in the beginning of 2023.
Gotham Knights has been given an official release date.
