Sergeant Michael Tichá she died along with six other foreign soldiersy in a helicopter accident in Egypt. According to the Czech army, the accident happened during a supply flight, earlier information spoke of an observation mission.

“We have lost one of us, Sergeant Michael Tichá. I am very sorry. Some things can simply never be prepared for. Sincere condolences to the family,” General Aleš Opata announced on Thursday afternoon. Michaela Tichá was born in 1993, she was a member of the 8th Task Force of the Czech Army MFO Sinai.

“Our country lost sergeant Michael Tichá while on duty in the Sinai Peninsula. My sincere condolences to the family. Let us be proud of the work of our army. I visited this mission, our soldiers have a great reputation there,” said Prime Minister Andrej Babiš (YES).

Sergeant Tichá is the 30th Czech soldier to have died in service since the founding of the Czech Republic and the first soldier.
