The dead Babiš and Zeman are across the line, the ODS criticizes Novotný

The mayor of Řeporyj, Pavel Novotný, has more or less provoked throughout his political career. After all, one of the last provocations, a sharp letter to the Chinese foreign minister, even earned him an award for a documentary of the week from Foreign Policy magazine.

But when a few days ago on a podcast server Info.cz He said that the deaths of Prime Minister Andrej Babiš and President Miloš Zeman were in the state interest, some of his fellow parties had already run out of patience.

“It is in the Czech interest for Babiš and Zeman to die,” said Mayor Pavel Novotný. I try to make statements from other politicians too …

The former Minister of Industry and Trade and the current candidate for South Bohemian governor, Martin Kuba, opposed Novotný’s statement on Facebook. He described politics as a duel of ideas and concrete solutions, which should not be about statements that one of the political rivals should die. “I refuse to make this the norm in the ODS, which is supposed to defend the freedom and life of each individual,” Kuba wrote, according to which the statement was across the line. “I admit that it is not clear to me why the chairman of the party, Petr Fiala, does not comment on this immediately,” he added.

Petr Fiala List He told the reports before Thursday’s extraordinary session of the Chamber that he objected to Novotný’s statement. “I do not agree with those statements, of course we will solve it. We have internal party mechanisms for that, which we will use, “he said. Ordinary deputies did not want to comment on the Novotný case.

The list of reports also addressed the chairman of the Prague regional association, to which the mayor of Řeporyjí belongs, whether his statements and the future will be resolved with the Civic Democrats. Novotný certainly does not want to exclude the cell he belongs to.

“Both the prime minister and the president are defeated in the presidential election and are not eliminated militarily. Similar statements do not belong in politics. I’ll talk to Pavel about it when his conversation with the party leadership is over. But he is smart enough for me to give him some moral authority, “says the head of the Prague association, Tomáš Portlík, who reportedly catches it himself during Novotný’s expression. “But he can’t be denied a certain innovation, he has the ability to raise various topics, he has an unmistakable style and people perceive him that way. I understand him in many things, I know where he’s going, but I guess I need to tell myself when it’s too much, “he adds.

Former journalist Pavel Novotný became the mayor of the Prague district of Řeporyje two years ago, and has been a member of the ODS since 2002. He has attracted attention several times. He infuriated the Russian side, for example, with a monument to the Russian Liberation Army, the so-called Vlasovci, which took part in the liberation of Prague in May 1945.

He is a great critic of deputies Zdeněk Ondráček (KSČM) and Jaroslav Foldyna (SPD), on whose account he regularly makes peculiar, often vulgar statements. At the end of August this year, he sent a letter to Chinese Foreign Minister Wang I, in which he called the Chinese cheeky pranksters and warned them that this was the last time “they opened their mouths to the Czech Republic” and that they should “apologize” for threats to the Czech president. Of the Senate to Miloš Vystrčil, who sounded along Vystrčil’s journey to Taiwan.

For this letter, or rather its English translation, which was published by Taiwanese and other world media, he received the aforementioned award from the prestigious Foreign Policy magazine.
