Didier drogba has been one of the best forwards in the history of the Chelsea and with great character in the dressing room. This was revealed by the one who was his partner in the ‘blue’ set, Steve Sidwell, who has revealed an anecdote of a training session in which José Mourinho prevented the Ivorian coast and Israeli central Tal Bel Haim from coming to blows. This is how the midfielder who played a season for the London team remembers him in 2007/2008.
“In that dressing room there were a lot of leaders: Terry, Lampard, Essien, Drogba, Ballack … In training, people beat each other. I remember Essien breaking Shevchenko in two. One day, Tal Ben Haim rushed into Drogba and Drogba got up saying “I’m going to kill him.” Mourinho, quickly, released him: “I need him on Saturday, you can kill him next week if you want”. Mourinho loved that this happened, I think he was even looking for it “, reveals the former English footballer to ‘BT Sport’.
That episode occurred during lfirst stage of the Portuguese coach in charge of Stamford Briedge’s team, who arrived from Porto. ‘The Special One’ won two Premier League, one FA Cup, two EFL Cups and one Community Shield between 2004 and 2007.
