Report: Extremism behind the machete attack in New York

Against a man who, on New Year’s Eve, was near the Times Square by the New Yorker three policemen with one Machete attached has, according to the authorities, suspected of Islamic extremism determined. Of the 19 years he probably traveled to New York from the US state of Maine for such an act, an investigator told The New York Times on Monday. The man is being investigated on two counts of attempted murder and two counts of attempted assault.
In which Attack on New Year’s Eve one of the three policemen shot the alleged perpetrator in the shoulder. One of them and the 19-year-old are still in hospital but in stable condition, reports the newspaper. The suspect converted to Islam a few months ago and accused his mother of distrust in a possible farewell letter.
