The Day Before Steam Keys Being Resold for Thousands of Crowns: Scandalous Prices for Failed Game

Buying one of the worst games of 2023 is now a bit more expensive, because Steam keys for The Day Before are being resold for thousands of crowns.

Together with our partner Samsung SSD, we bring you a large reader and editorial poll. You can win a number of prizes for your vote for the best game…

  • Dealers try to sell The Day Before for thousands of crowns (some even dollars)
  • Some sell the entire Steam account
  • The key can be activated even after downloading from the store

Did you think there would be peace after one of the biggest disasters of this year? Looks like not. Resourceful traffickers took advantage of the situation and keys to The Day Before began to appear on the pages of unauthorized key resellers for ridiculously high amounts.

Touted as an open-world zombie-filled MMO, The Day Before was the most “wishlist” game on Steam. But as time went on, things started to take a strange turn. From the beginning, players called it a fraud. The controversial game came out in such bad shape and gutted that it was eventually pulled from Steam and people were given refunds regardless of how much time they spent playing it. If you still have the urge to try it, there are people selling the entire account that The Day Before is on for as much as $1,000. However, some sellers have more “realistic” expectations and sell the key itself for “only” 300 dollars (CZK 6,700).

How is it possible? The Day Before has been removed from Steam, but if someone bought a key in the past and didn’t use it, they still have the option to activate the game on the platform and possibly play it. But why would anyone do that?
