BRATISLAVA. Eighteen-year-old German hockey player Niclas Kaus succumbed to severe head injuries.
Löwen Frankfurt’s defender defeated his head unhappily after a fall against Bad Nauheim’s twentieth last fall.
He died on Wednesday, despite a quick transfer to the hospital and the provision of intensive medical care.
The tragic event shook German hockey, condolences through social networks were expressed by several leading DEL players and national team coach Toni Söderholm.
Before the Christmas matches in the German competitions, Kaus will be honored to observe a minute’s silence. The DPA reported.
