US ‘could not accept official extradition request’

Bolsonaro must be returned to Brazil”.
Former President Bolsonaro entered the United States on a visa issued to heads of state and diplomats in late December last year, ahead of President Luis Inacio Lula Dasiouba’s inauguration ceremony. US State Department spokesman Ned Price said people who entered the country on an official foreign visa must apply for a change of immigration status if they leave the country within 30 days or are no longer in government service.
The US government has not yet issued a clear statement on the Bolsonaro visa or India. National Security Advisor Jake Sullivan said the same day that he had still not received an official request from Brazil for the extradition of former President Bolsonaro.
Meanwhile, former President Bolsonaro posted a photo of himself lying on a hospital bed in Orlando, Florida on Twitter on the 10th and said: “I am being treated for complications from an old stab wound” . His wife posted on Instagram a photo of her husband lying in a hospital bed the day before and said he had been hospitalized with the aftereffects of being stabbed by a weapon during the 2018 presidential campaign. The day Bolsonaro was hospitalized was the day after his supporters revolted.
Bolsonaro took no responsibility for the riots, saying on his Twitter account after the riots “I have always respected and stood up for the law, democracy, transparency and our sacred freedoms during my tenure.”
After losing the Brazilian presidential election last October, Bolsonaro refused to accept the result and left for the United States shortly before President Lula took office. As he is being investigated for various allegations of corruption and mishandling of the Corona 19 pandemic, he is being interpreted as intending to avoid investigation.
