Al-Ahly’s team prepares to play a new match in the Egyptian league today, Tuesday, against Pharco, after a draw with Future with one goal for each team in the last round of the competition.

The 64th edition of the Egyptian Premier League competitions started on 18 October 2022 and its first edition was in 1948, and the tournament is considered one of the best ever in the Middle East and Africa.

Al-Ahly are the historic champions of the Egyptian league having won the title 42 times, while Zamalek are the second club to win the league with a total of 14 times, and Ismaily comes in third place, a big difference from the runners-up – up, having only won the competition on three occasions in its history.

Zamalek have won the title in the last two seasons, to continue to control the image of local titles in recent seasons, while Pyramids finished as runners-up in the 2021-22 season, beating Al-Ahly for third.

Al-Ahly are preparing to face Pharco at 5pm today Tuesday at the Burj Al Arab Stadium in Alexandria in the eighth round of the Premier League competition.

Al-Ahly matches in December

Al-Ahly’s team will play two matches until the end of this December in the Egyptian league.

Al-Ahly’s fixtures during the month of December were as follows:

Tuesday 20 December – Pharco x Al-Ahly, eighth round of the championship, 17:00 at the Alexandria Stadium.

Sunday 25 December – Al-Ahly × Smouha, 9th round of the league, at 7.00pm at Al-Salam Stadium.

Al-Ahly qualify for the Egypt Cup semi-finals

Al-Ahly qualified for the semi-finals of the Egyptian Cup after winning on penalties 4-3 against Arab Contractors in the quarter-finals after the end of original and extra time in a 1-1 draw. Karim Fouad scored Al-Ahly’s goal in the 68th minute, while Nigerian John Okoli equalized for the contractors eight minutes later.

The Competitions Committee of the Football Association has set January 16 as the date for the two semi-finals of the Egypt Cup 2021-2022 season, between Al-Ahly, Smouha, Zamalek and Pyramids, after achieving this role at the expense of Arab contractors, Al -Masry and Al-Ahly Bank.
