According to Lupa, the tornado in South Moravia also has implications for the operation of the DataSpring data center, which falls under the Karel Komárek KKCG investment group (part of the Aricoma IT holding). The data complex operates in the village of Lužice near Hodonín, which was affected by a natural disaster.
“The operation of the DC Lužice data center is in crisis mode,” a KKCG spokeswoman confirmed to Lupa Dana Dvořáková. “The natural disaster damaged the building envelope, including the office space. The data room is currently in a stable state and we are dealing with secure provision of power supply, cooling and connectivity. ”
The DataSpring data center has been operating since April 2015. KKCG built it in Moravia thanks to European subsidies that it was able to obtain outside Prague. It draws a total of 127 million crowns from the funds. The financial group also operates Moravské naftové doly in this area and Komárek is a native of Hodonín.
The data center is used both by companies in the KKCG group (AutoCont, MND, Cleverlance and others) and by external customers such as Zentiva, the Technology Agency of the Czech Republic, ČSOB, Kiwi.com and others.
