The Danone Nation Cup is an international football competition for children aged 10 to 12 that aims to promote the values of sport, health and well-being, while encouraging the development of young football talents.

In Réunion, the competition will take place from August 20 to November 12, culminating in the grand regional final to be held on November 12 and for the first time at the Paul Julius Benard stadium in Saint-Paul.

Since its launch, the Danone Nations Cusp has grown in popularity, becoming an unmissable event for young footballers on the island.

This event is more than just a sports tournament; it embodies the values of respect, solidarity, fair play, and team spirit, while promoting a positive and caring environment for the development of these young athletes. As such, the most fair play players will be awarded the French Bee fair play prize to reward their good behavior on the field.

In collaboration with Réunion La Première, the Danone Nation Cup is organizing the “Réunion la 1ère penalty shoot-out challenge” for the second consecutive year. During the final phases of the sectors, the teams will take part in penalty shoot-outs. The best of them will be rewarded during the grand finale.

This year again, the Danone Nations Cup supports the principles of diversity and inclusion by organizing a 100% female tournament. This commitment reflects the development of women’s football in Reunion.

It is the Portoise Fanny Hoarau, second division defender at RC Strasbourg who will be the godmother of the women’s tournament. She won the gold medal at the Games of the Islands and was world university champion in 2015. Today she is an example to follow for all young Reunionese.

The competition will be an opportunity to crown the regional champions who will be offered a trip to Paris offered by French Bee and Danone Réunion. This trip already promises to be rich in encounters, discoveries and emotions.

“The competition carries the values of the company: a healthy lifestyle or inclusion, like the “solidarity challenge” which results in collections organized in partnership with the Banque Alimentaire des Mascareignes. Between sports competition , inclusiveness and mutual aid, the 2023 edition still promises to be spectacular.” concludes François Gillet, Director of Danone Réunion.
