She stated this the day after the Danish national football team secured a place in the World Cup, when they did not lose a point in the qualification in the previous eight duels and did not collect a goal. Halsbö-Jörgensen confirmed that the Danes will not be missing at the World Championships.

Qatar has long faced criticism for the discrimination and working conditions of migrants who are preparing the infrastructure for next year’s World Cup. No country has yet confirmed that they will not travel to the tournament if they advance to the championship. In Norway, however, there are stronger voices for that to happen. Clubs such as Rosenborg Trondheim and Tromsö IL presented such an initiative.

Qatar won the right to host the World Cup 2022 in 2010, in the meantime the selection of the championship organizer has become the target of corruption investigations. However, the International Football Federation (FIFA) did not find evidence of such conduct and left the World Cup to Qatar. The country has already spent tens of billions of dollars to build hotels, stadiums and a transportation system.
