The Danish chef was a mole in North Korea

A disabled chef, a convicted cocaine addict, a Spanish aristocrat and plans for an underground weapons factory built with help from North Korea.

These are some of the bizarre ingredients in Mads Brügger’s documentary “The Mole”.

The three-part documentary follows the former chef, who chooses to infiltrate a Danish-North Korean friendship association. Here he rises in the ranks and joins trips to North Korea, where he films with a hidden camera in collaboration with Brügger.

Eleven years later, the Dane is involved in secret arms trafficking and drug trafficking. It appears, among other things, that an underground weapons factory will be built in Uganda, which would be a blatant breach of the UN arms embargo against North Korea.

The North Korean embassy in Sweden plays an important role in the course of events, and the Swedish Ministry of Foreign Affairs will now investigate the information that appears in the documentary.

In Norway, the documentary series is shown on NRK.
