The Health Council of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia revealed the harmful effects of taking vitamin C in excess of the appropriate daily dose for children and adults, which leads to serious health problems in the human body in the long term.
The Council clarified that the normal dose for adults aged 19 to 64 years is 65 to 90 mg, whether for men or women, which is according to the Saudi Health Council’s publication on its official account on the X digital platform.

The Saudi health expert explained the dangers of vitamin C, saying: “Eating large amounts of vitamin C and increasing it in the body has several harmful effects, including: stomach pain, diarrhea, and abdominal bloating.”
Also, the greatest risk of taking vitamin C in a higher than normal dose is the formation of stones in the kidney area, increased iron absorption rates, severe nausea throughout the day, and fatigue.
