JawaPos.com – Electronic cigarettes or vapes are devices that function to convert chemical substances into liquid form and flow them to the lungs using electricity.

Electronic cigarettes or vape were created with the plan to provide nicotine without the process of burning tobacco so that it becomes a substitute for cigarettes.

The Ministry of Health of the Republic of Indonesia emphasized that there is a ban on the use of vape because it has the same dangers as conventional cigarettes.

The Food and Drug Supervisory Agency (BPOM) of the Republic of Indonesia found several dangerous substances such as metals, carbonyl substances and nicotine.

The existence of electronic cigarettes or vapes in Indonesia is currently illegal, this was stated by the Ministry of Health of the Republic of Indonesia.

Content of Vape or Electronic Cigarette

The ingredients in electronic cigarettes vary, but generally they contain a solution consisting of 4 types of mixture, namely: nicotine, propylene glycol, glycerin, water and flavoring (shield).

Tobacco-specific Nitrosamine (TSNAs) Diethylene Glycol (DEG) Metals: tin, silver, nickel, aluminum and chromium particles in electric vapor with a very small size (nano-particles) so they can very easily enter the airways in the lungs. Carbonyls: Potential carcinogens include formaldehyde, acetaldehyde, and acrolein, as well as volatile organic compounds (VOCs) such as toluene and pm-xylene. Other substances: coumarin, tadalafil, rimonabant, silica fiber

Electronic cigarettes are still dangerous because they contain chemicals, some of which are toxic and carcinogenic (trigger cancer) and do not depend on the dose.
