The Dangers of Answering Unknown Calls in Lebanon: A Chilling Story of Impersonation and Gangs

Crises are increasing in Lebanon, one crisis after another, as the citizen is afraid of the simplest things, as if he is passing through a field of mines.
We are afraid to go through the dark streets, and we are afraid to return to our homes during the day or at night because unfortunately we live in a country where there is no safety, and there is no state that protects our rights if we are exposed to harm, theft or assault one day. There is no censor or one to be held accountable, and indeed we are in a country that we can call the slogan “the law of the jungle”.
It is natural for us to be afraid to go through the dark streets of Lebanon because we do not know where the pickpocket appears from to rob us, for example, but the surprising thing is that the individual is sitting in his house comfortably when a person calls him and it is a disaster.

A chilling story… Karima Aziz, a Lebanese citizen, sits at home after returning from work after a long and exhausting day.
And when the phone rang, a girl impersonating a person in one of the security services, and in a high-pitched tone, told her terrible news. The news was at the beginning that her husband had died, knowing that her husband was in the house. “.
The girl remained silent, then went back and gave her a new, horrific news, in the same tone, saying: “No, I am not your husband. I made a mistake. Your brother died.”
So Karima was terrified of fear and started crying profusely, and I asked her: How did he die? Then the unidentified girl, who impersonated “the capacity of a person in one of the security services,” came back to say to her: “No, your brother is not dead.”
Karima’s son was out of the house…
He started crying, screaming, and collapsing over her son, who, by the way, was still alive, and it was later confirmed that nothing bad happened to him!

So the husband took the phone to understand the issue, and the girl hung up on him and no longer answered anyone.

The result was that the mother fainted and was immediately taken to the hospital to receive appropriate treatment due to the shock.

The girl who impersonated a security, and decided to spend time to entertain people’s nerves, what was her goal in all this? And what result did you reach?
Logic says that if this girl had mistakenly made this call, she would have called again and apologized for what she had caused. It is clear that they are gangs that entertain people’s nerves or gangs that aim to steal, so they carry out this immoral scenario, or maybe a girl plays one of the silly “tiktok” games, but the result is the same.

To all citizens, beware of unknown numbers that call you and try not to answer the number before confirming the identity of the caller, so do not fall victim to the lack of conscience we live in in our society, and what happened with Karima we put it in the custody of the state and the concerned agencies to move immediately and put an end to this farce.
