Drinking sweet drinks is delicious, in fact many people cannot escape this habit. Drinking sweet iced tea, bubble tea, milk tea, soda drinks and even energy drinks is considered capable of quenching thirst to the maximum.
However, this habit turns out to have serious and dangerous effects on health. Sweet drinks are filled with sugar which can trigger various diseases such as obesity and diabetes.

1. Indigestion due to eating boba
The sweet drink in the form of bubble tea is filled with chewy tapioca pearls which are popularly called boba. The presence of boba as a topping was very popular because it gave a chewy and soft sensation when bitten.
However, Amanda, a bubble tea lover, experienced quite serious side effects from trying to drink a lot of boba in her glass of bubble tea. He didn’t chew the boba completely and swallowed it straight away.
As a result, Amanda experienced digestive problems and had to be rushed to hospital. Amanda admitted that she had a stomach ache after swallowing boba. He felt that the boba he swallowed was ‘growing’ in his stomach and was very annoying.
2. Leg amputated because of drinking Tarik tea

Consuming too much of anything is not good, especially Tarik tea which is high in sugar and calories. A man named Azlan in Malaysia is an example.
In the last 30 years, he drank 3 glasses of teh tarik every day. Not only that, he is also a big fan of soda drinks. As a result, Azlan suffered from diabetes to the point that his right leg had to be amputated.
Initially, Azlan realized he had diabetes after the wound had taken a long time to heal. Azlan said, “After the wound got worse and the infection was severe, the doctor told me that I had no choice but to amputate my right leg, which I did.”
3. Diabetes at the age of 22 due to drinking soda

Soda is a sugary drink that is detrimental to health when consumed too much. A woman in Malaysia named Aisyah Shakura Ahmad Taridi is an example of a victim of drinking soda.
Aisyah admitted that she drank at least 4 cans of soda every day for the last 6 years. He then began to experience side effects such as frequent urination and not being able to hold his urine when outside. His weight also dropped drastically, even though he was not on a diet.
“I had a wound on my head, which at first I thought was the result of using the wrong hair product. But it turned out the wound got worse and started to flow with pus,” said Aisyah. On June 29 2023, he was checked into the hospital. The doctor checked his blood pressure and blood sugar. It turned out that his blood sugar level was very high and he was declared diabetes.
