This has been explained in several cases containing reports of a student dying tragically. This student died of liver necrosis within hours of reheating a bowl of cooked spaghetti bolognese.

A 20-year-old Belgian national known as AJ, reportedly left after enjoying his dinner that had been at room temperature for several days. After finishing eating, AJ went out to exercise with his friends.

AJ returned home half an hour later complaining of a severe headache and stomach ache, followed by vomiting and diarrhea. He was found dead in his room.

After a post-mortem examination, it was found that Bacillus cereus was present. This is a type of bacteria that produces dangerous toxins when heated or left for a long time.

The United States Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) identifies Bacillus cereus as a common cause of food poisoning. However, recent reports indicate that the disease is increasingly associated with serious and potentially fatal gastrointestinal infections.
