Electric toothbrush damage
1- Gingivitis
You must be careful when using an electric toothbrush, because it may threaten the gums with a number of problems, such as bleeding, inflammation and receding, especially when used violently.
2- Erosion of tooth enamel
Violent use of electric brushes may erode the enamel layer that covers the surface of the tooth from the outside, which leads to weak teeth and an increased risk of cracking, fracture and falling out.

3- Poor oral hygiene
When doctors surveyed a group of electric toothbrush users, they found that 30% of them could not remember “when they changed the brush head?”.
Not changing the electric toothbrush head regularly may lead to poor oral hygiene, because worn-out bristles will have difficulty removing plaque, calcareous deposits, food residue, and bacteria efficiently.
4- Alzheimer’s disease
If a person continues to use an electric toothbrush without changing its head, a bacteria known as F. nucleatum will accumulate in the mouth, which causes periodontitis, and if it travels through the bloodstream to the brain, it may increase the risk of Alzheimer’s disease.
Therefore, the electric toothbrush head should be changed every 3 months or less.
