The accident happened at 7:40 a.m. on the 17th kilometer of the D7 highway near the village of Knovíz, a few hundred meters after the entrance to the highway.
“The truck driver was moving into the right lane, where the road maintenance vehicles were parked at the time, into which he crashed,” police spokeswoman Barbora Schneeweissová told Novinka.
Footage from the scene of the accident showed that one of the trucks had a completely demolished cabin, the truck with the boom ended up partially off the road, and the van went down the ditch under the highway after the collision.

Accident on the D7 highway
One person suffered minor injuries in the collision and was transported to the hospital by an ambulance.
Complications arose when cleaning up the aftermath of the accident, in which liquids such as diesel and oil leaked from the vehicles. Firefighters described the spill as massive, and it was already clear in the morning that the cleanup would drag on, which also entailed the closure of the highway. In addition, diesel spilled outside the road, which was handled by a specialized company.
In the end, more than seven hours had passed from initial estimates that traffic would be restored by midday, when traffic resumed in the left lane shortly before 4 p.m., while road clearing continued in the right.
A similar problem was solved by the police and firefighters on the D1 highway at the 47th kilometer in the direction of Brno, where two people were seriously injured in an accident involving a truck with a van. The highway was passable with only one lane.
