“In 2019, most companies in the region of Central and Eastern Europe took advantage of the then continuing favorable economic environment. This is especially true for smaller export-oriented economies, ”said Ján Čarný from Coface.

The first place in the ranking was won by Poland with 163 representatives, the second place belongs to the Czech Republic, while Hungary fell to the third place.

In the last ranking, the Czechia was only fourth. “The automotive and transport sectors remain the strongest in the ranking from the point of view of Czech companies,” added Čarný.

In the CEE region, 60 percent of sales are made up of the largest companies, which are concentrated in three key sectors – the automotive and transportation industries, the petrochemical and gas industries, and trade.

The largest increases in turnover were recorded in the textile, leather and clothing industries (by 23.2 percent) and in construction (by 13.6 percent).

On the contrary, metallurgy, precision engineering, as well as the woodworking and furniture industries generated lower turnover compared to the previous year.
