“At BlackRock, as the world’s leading renewable investor, we are gaining a stable and reputable partner who will generate long-term sales for our services. This is an important strategic step in establishing cooperation with leading infrastructure investors, who are key to the further growth of the Solek Group, not only in Chile but also in other countries, “commented Zdeněk Sobotka, founder and CEO of the Solek energy group.
The agreement allows the Czech Solek Group to build up to 28 individual photovoltaic power plant projects in Chile with a total output of up to 200 MW. The company will also take care of their operation and ensure regular maintenance and fast professional service. All projects will be built and connected to the grid under Chile’s electricity distribution program, which is one of the pillars of the country’s strategy to become carbon neutral by 2050. BlackRock will take over most of the planned power plants by the end of next year.
