A new Czech video game called HROT is coming to the market. It is a classic shooter from the point of view of one’s own person, which excels in the fact that it is set in communist Czechoslovakia in 1986. It takes place, for example, at the Gottwaldova metro station, Vyšehrad and the like. Socialist inscriptions and logos appear in the game, one of the weapons is a sickle and health is replenished with the help of milk in plastic bags.
The author of HROT, who calls himself Spytihněv, was also inspired by classic games such as Quake. The game engine also reminds us of this, but in fact Spytihněv wrote it himself from the ground up.
Spytihnev has so far released the first episode of HOT, which has eight levels. The game is in pre-access mode (early access) and another episode is due in about a year. You can get the current offer taken on Steam for 16.79 euros and in action for 14.27 euros. There is also a free demo available.
